Calendar

It’s poppin’! There’s always something fun happening in our wine shop & bar, so you can explore new wines or learn a lil’ something.

Sunday Tastings are 12-9 p.m., with new themes every week, curated by Sommelier Randall Middleton.  Enjoy a flight for $25/person, which includes a mini cheese pairing and link to a video of our team telling stories about the wine.  Plus, enjoy 10% off in the shop for bottles featured in that day’s line-up.

Monday Cellar Nights are 4-10 p.m. and are a really cool way to try a glass of something rare or fancy from our high-end collection, without committing to the whole bottle. We’ve popped open luxurious Champagnes, baller Burgundies, small allocations from top California winemakers and more.

Read on for more details of our upcoming schedule. Want to be in the know? Sign up for our weekly e-blast (scroll down) or follow us on Instagram for future tasting announcements

Sunday Tasting- It’s almost Halloween, don’t be scared of these wines!

Sunday Tasting- It’s almost Halloween, don’t be scared of these wines!

Sunday, October 20
12-9
It’s Halloween, so we’re challenging ourselves to try some wines that might scare some people away for variety of reasons, but we think they’re delicious, so we’re going to drink them. Join us all day from 12-9 to check them out!

Domaine de Majas, Chardonnay Reserve, Cotes Catalanes, France 2021
Why are people scared? Some people are just weird about chardonnay. Why shouldn’t they be- this is crisp, mineral, and not the california butter bomb ‘ABC” drinkers are afraid of.
Phelan Farm, ‘Bottle Baby’ Apple Grape Wine, NV
Why are people scared? Its an apple grape coferment, a style that’s trying to catch on, but maybe isn’t there yet. Why shouldn’t they be? It’s refreshing and delicious and dark. A perfect fall party wine.
Camins 2 Dreams, ‘Pride Edition’ Red Blend, California 2023
Why are people afraid? This is a ‘Frankenstein’ blend of lots of different red (and some white) grapes. Why shouldnt’ they be? Its delicous and drinkable- medium bodied, fruity and earthy at the same time, and it was made for a great cause!
Camin Larredya, Jurancon ‘Au Capceu’ France 2022
Why are people afraid? It’s sweeet! Why they shouldn’t be- it’s delicious, complex and destined to age beautifully. Also a great pair with cheeses, charcuterie and rich fall savory dishes.
Monday Cellar Night- Bize Bourgogne Blanc ‘Shiro’ 2020

Monday Cellar Night- Bize Bourgogne Blanc ‘Shiro’ 2020

Monday, October 21
4-10
Simon Bize, Bourgogne Blanc ‘Shiro’, France 2020 $29/gl
We love Burgundy here at Esters, and Domaine Simon Bize is a perennial favorite. This family Domaine began its rise to prominence under winemaker Patrick Bize, whose wife Chisa pushed him towards organic and biodynamic practices in the vineyards, which led to unmatched transparency, elegance and complexity. Chisa took over management of the estate in 2013 on Patrick’s untimely passing, and if anything has improved the reputation of these wines. The ‘Shiro’ from Savigny Les Beaune, is the purest vivion of her commitment to responsible farming and natural winemaking, using only homeopathic treatments (no synthetics or copper sulfate) in the vines, and only a vanishingly small amount of sulfur at bottling, resulting in a chardonnay that is flinty, energetic and layered with both fruit and minerality. We only received a few bottles, but we’re excited to share with you this evening!
